Edge Cache & Token Design Checklist

A one-page checklist to work through before you ship a streaming catalog: design the cache key for segmented media (path only; keep tokens, session IDs, and high-cardinality headers out), choose where the token lives (signed cookie vs query string) and validate it at the edge without keying on it, set the invalidation strategy (long-TTL segments, short-TTL manifest, surrogate-key purge, soft purge, version-by-path), and prewarm the edge for a live premiere — plus the one sanity check that protec
