One-page reference: the compositing 'over' formula with a worked example; why replacement looks faker than blur (the three seams and their fixes — feather/alpha matte, colour-match/light wrapping, spill suppression); the green-screen chroma-key decision; Zoom and Teams background-asset specs; and the browser build-it-yourself checklist (raw-frame access, GPU composite, upload-once texture, mirror, feather, close every frame).

This virtual background cheat sheet covers the compositing over formula, why replacement looks faker than blur, chroma-key choices, Zoom and Teams asset specs and a browser build checklist. Volume 1 covers the pixel side in depth: color science and color spaces, chroma subsampling, compression artifacts and quality metrics, and AI in the encoding pipeline. Written by Nikolay Sapunov, CEO at Fora Soft.
