LC3plus is an extended version of the Bluetooth LE Audio codec LC3, standardized by ETSI (TS 103 634) for professional and wired applications that go beyond the LE Audio baseline. It adds higher sample rates up to 96 kHz, very low frame durations for low-latency use, and packet-loss-concealment and error-protection tools aimed at robust links. Where LC3 targets earbuds and hearing aids on Bluetooth, LC3plus aims at professional wireless audio, headsets, and industrial voice systems where latency and resilience are critical. The two share a common heritage and high efficiency but serve different ends of the market — consumer wireless versus professional and mission-critical audio.
